Role: Website (Front-End) Developer

Team: Creative

Remote | Freelance | Project-Based | Option for Full-Time Transition

The Writer’s House Collective is building something a bit different. We’re an interdisciplinary consultancy + agency designed to step in where growing companies need the most help—and we’re looking to build a trusted bench of freelance collaborators as we scale.

We’re currently onboarding a freelance Web Developer to support us on a project-by-project basis. This is ideal for someone who loves partnering with sharp teams, delivering excellent work, and the opportunity to become part of something bigger.

In this role, you may be asked to:

  • Develop website layouts and user interfaces based on design mockups and wireframes, ensuring cross-browser compatibility and responsiveness across various devices.

  • Create reusable code and libraries for future use.

  • Work closely with creative, product & marketing teams to ensure cohesive visual communication.

  • Work closely with UX/UI designers to ensure seamless integration of design and functionality.

  • Keep up-to-date with emerging web technologies, industry trends, and best practices.

  • Apply new knowledge and techniques to enhance projects and workflows

You’re a great fit if you:

  • Are proficient in front-end development languages and frameworks (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Liquid, etc.)

  • Are a self-starter who is skilled at time management

  • Communicate clearly and collaborate well across teams

  • Deliver quality, thoughtful work—on time and on brief

  • Are curious about being part of a bigger mission, but don’t need to jump in full-time just yet

  • Want to join a team of best-in-class professionals

What you should know:

This is a freelance, hourly role. Work will be offered on a per-project basis, depending on client needs. We’ll keep your name at the top of our list for creative, growth, or product projects aligned with your expertise.

This role is fully remote within the United States and requires reliable computer and internet access.

If you’re a strong fit and want to grow with us, you’ll be considered for a full-time salaried position in September 2026.

Compensation:

  • Hourly / Project-Based: Rate determined by experience and project scope

  • Bonus: Long-term freelancers may receive performance-based cash bonuses

Let’s build something worth scaling.
